The sheep that graze on city farms.
The birds that nest on telephone masts. The ocean reefs that form on oil rigs. The kids on the look-out for earwigs. Ecology finds new forms, earth finds new friends.

A smile, a wave, a nod and grunt.
A pause, a thought, a reckoning with one's thoughts. Adjust your tempo and your pace. Feel the city’s pulse in you vibrate; Let it invigorate a sixth sense. Watch your step, mind the merde. A taste of cod, a love of god. Find the compass that lay claim, To voyages gone past exploring deep terrain. Autumn passes and winter surprises.
Moments of introspection keep our minds wandering. Weighed down by your thoughts, anxiety unravels. Until, a sense of relief falls down on you. There is an alternative future that we can shape. The path ahead is bright and clear. You gain strength as your body feels lighter. Autumn passes and winter surprises. One layer of sound envelops this birdsong. That sounds is my brain ticking and not ticking. Wanting it to be simple but not making it simple for myself. Press the pause button and unwind. You’re on the beach somewhere and you’ve forgotten what time it is. How does it feel to withdraw once and for all? Do you feel lazy or do feel free? Try not to dwell on it please and allow yourself take a deep breath. Give it a rest, a real rest, stop staring at that book and gaze up to those pristine blue skies. Now, rest your eyes, not because I told you so, but because ... nobody told you so. If there was a happy wand, I would hide it.
I would bury it in the depths of mother earth's sediment. I would bury it where there are no humans around, where the soil is arid and where the sun doesn't shine. Our happy wands are all around us. They take care of us when we are sick and old, they show affection before judgement and they never stop giving. Look at our shadows, look at our past, look at those thoughts that never seem to pass.
There’s a new occupy movement and it rests in my head. It zig zags unspoken thoughts that I dare not impress. Hold that thought, because there is some success. You have unearthed something new and true within yourself. You have discovered that there is no grand masterplan. To be vulnerable, is to be courageous. To be present, is to start living. Look at our shadows, look at our past, look at those thoughts that never seem to pass. |
